Essential oils are meant to be used topically or inhaled. Our mists can be sprayed on your pet but be careful not to spray in eyes, nose or mouth, we recommend spraying in your palms and massaging behind ears and back. When introducing a new essential oil to your pet, never force application without first getting their approval, if they resist the scent in any way do not apply. Do not use essential oils on medium or large breed puppies until they are eight weeks old or on small breed puppies until they are ten weeks old. Introduce
essential oils gradually. If a dog shows any signs of distress (whining, panting, drooling, etc.) around an essential oil, stop using it. Use essential oils in moderation with dogs, especially old, pregnant, or ill dogs. Be especially careful if the dog has epilepsy or is prone to seizures. Essential Oils/ Properties and Uses
Bergamot
Antifungal, soothing. Excellent for ear infections caused by yeast or bacterial overgrowth. Caution: Can cause photosensitization.
Avoid the sun after use.
Cedarwood
Antiseptic, tonifying, circulation-stimulating. Good for skin and coat conditioning and dermatitis of all types. Flea-repelling.
Eucalyptus
Antiviral, anti-inflammatory, an expectorant. Good for relief of chest congestion. Effective in repelling flea.
Geranium
Gentle and safe, anti fungal. Good for skin irritations, fungal ear infections. Effective in repelling ticks.
Lavender
Very safe and gentle, antibacterial, anti-itch, nerve-calming.
Good for many common animal ailments, e.g. skin irritations, first aid.
A "must-have" oil for your dog!
Peppermint
Antispamodic, stimulates circulation, insect-repelling.
Good for arthritis, dysplasia, sprains and strains. Works well with ginger to treat motion sickness. Another "must-have" for dogs!
Sweet Orange
Calming, deodorizing, flea-repelling. Caution: Can cause photosensitization. Avoid the sun after use.
Essential Oils and Cats
Always allow your cat to choose whether it wants an essential oil. Do not use essential oils on cats if they resist in any way! Essential oils must always be used in very high dilutions (max 1 drop to 10 mls, as little as 1 drop in 25mls can be effective). Never put essential oils on a cat's body, never close a cat in a room with essential oils diffusing, never use essential oil that contains phenols.
